A defiant hijacker was arrested after he stole elderly ladies car.
Sue Smuts (86) Wednesday afternoon(29 April 2015) in the driveway of her home in Clear View, Somerset West, hijacked by the culprit.

Smuts said she had just stopped at home when the man knocked on her car window.
She opened her window and locked the door a small opening that the hijacker put his hand through, the door unlocked and he ripped Smuts out of the car.
The villain drove off in her white Fiat Uno, with the R271 groceries she bought at Pick n Pay in Waterstone Mall.

In a statement released by the Western Cape SAPS, “Two detectives spotted the stolen vehicle in Macassar abandon. They decided to monitor the vehicle – the suspect returned to the vehicle and drove off. The detectives followed vehicle to Parow area where they arrested the 37-year-old.”

The 37-year-old man from Eersteriver is set to make his first court appearance in Somerset West on Monday in connection to the hijacking.He is being detained at the Somerset West Police Station.
